I drove over the road for 20 yrs. and have dispatched for over 10 yrs.now.
The one thing that needs "tweaking" is not being able to log off duty when taking breaks..
If a driver needs to eat he should be able to go OFF DUTY and conserve his hours.
If he is feeling a little sleepy, he should be able to pull over and take an hour nap WITHOUT having to stay "on duty" with his log...
Without the ability to conserve an hour or two here and there,drivers will drive for 11 straight hours no matter if they are so sleepy that they can barely keep their eyes open....that's an accident waiting to happen!
