Date:05-29-2011 Re: Hours of Service of Drivers Docket # FMCSA-2004-19608 Dear Administrator Ferro: I am writing to express my concerns over the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s proposed rule on hours of service for truck drivers. My particular concerns are as follows: You have cut my pay with the regulations you have put into affect now. I never sleep 8 continuous hours in the sleeper, especially when the refrigeration unit is running. The ten hour brake is a waste of time. How can two hours off duty do me any good when I’m sitting in a rest stop waiting for the legal time to drive again? Most of the time I could be two hours farther down the road and just as rested. It certainly doesn’t take me two hours to get something to eat. It is this Obama administration that is destroying our country and the economy. I will not vote for any one that is responsible for changing these regulations again. YOU CAN’T PASS ANY LAW THAT WORKS FOR ALL TRUCKERS. STOP TRYING!!! Leave things alone or let us sleep when we are sleepy and let us drive when we aren’t sleepy. If it is the middle of the day and I have only been able to sleep 4 hours it doesn’t do me any good to sit there 6 hours and then have to drive 10 or 11 hours. I might as well driven when I was awake and been able to stop if I get sleepy and catch another 4 or 5 hours sleep. YOU CAN NOT DICTATE TO PEOPLE WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO SLEEP AND WHEN THEY ARE SUPPOSE TO BE AWAKE. MY BODY DOESN’T WORK THAT WAY!!! Keep this stupid over regulation up and the tea party sympathizers will vote all you Democrats out of office. I personally will probably never vote Democratic again.
