TO WHOM IT CONCERNS: I AM ASKING AS A UNITED STATES BORN CITIZEN AND A PROFESSIONAL TRUCK DRIVER FOR YOU TO NOT MESS WITH THE HOURS OF SERVICE ANYMORE UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TO REDUCE THE NUMBER OF HOURS IN THE SLEEPER BERTH BACK TO 8 HOURS. YOU ARE MAKING HARDER AND HARDER ON US OUT TO MAKE A LIVING. MOST DRIVERS CANNOT SLEEP 10 HRS IN THE BUNK. MOST OF YOU DONT SLEEP 10 HRS A NIGHT BEFORE YOU GET UP AND GOTO WORK.
THE HOURS OF SERVICE ARE GETTING TO COMPLICATED FOR THE DRIVERS NOW AND FOR ALOT OF POLICE OFFICERS. YOU JUST KEEP MAKING IT HARDER ON YOURSELVES AND US. LEAVE THE RULES ALONE. YOU DONT EVEN ENFORCE THE ONES YOU HAVE ON THE BOOK NOW WILL ALL THESE MEXICAN TRUCKS UP HERE DRIVING AROUND AND ABOUT TO FALL APART. NOW YOU WANT TO ADD MORE RULES TO US. WHY DON'T YOU COME OUT HERE ON THE ROAD FOR A WEEK WITH ME AND YOU SEE THAT THESE RULES ARE BAD FOR THE ECONOMY BECAUSE THERE AREN'T ENOUGH PLACES FOR A DRIVER TO SLEEP WITHOUT BEING HARASSED BY THE DOT OR A PROSTITUTE KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR. THE SHIPPERS AND CONSIGNEES ARE NOT ON THE PROGRAM AND WE MIGHT USE ALL OF OUR TIME WAITING ON THEM TO LOAD OR UNLOAD US AND THEN OUR TIME IS UP..
PLEASE RECONSIDER JUST LEAVING THE RULES ALONE, IF ANYTHING GET AFTER THE SHIPPERS AND CONSIGNEES TO GET US UNLOADED OR LOADED FASTER SO THAT OUR TIME IS BETTER USED THAN JUST SITTING THERE.
THANKS FORREST KEITH
