Hours of Service of Drivers

Under the current hours of service, I can not take a nap in the middle of the day if I wish to with out losing hours to work. Why could we not go back to the (8 and 10) hours of service with a 34 hour reset in it.This would give every type of motor carriers the the flexibility it needs to do the different type jobs.
