The HOS rule needs to be changed to help the safety of the driver and the motoring public. My belief is that a driver should be able to rest during the day and that time resting should extent the driving time and 14hours daily rule, (Split Sleeping Berth Rule that was removed more then 2 years ago). I was able to maintain a higher level of awareness when i was able to rest and not be penalized for it. We should keep the 24Hour rule to regain working hours. A drivier should not be forced by any rule to stop during the day for a break. A driver is able to better determine the reason to stop and rest for these reasons will change at any moment. Under the current HOS, i find that i must stay on the move as a truck driver, I barely find the time avail to sleep during the day. On many days, i wont stop to sleep for if i rest longer then planned, I wont be able to make my delivery and risk my employment. I request the flexability that drivers had just a few years ago
