I have been driving for over 16 yrs.I drove under the old Hos rules and have been driving under the present ones. Now, the rules are gonna change again.I think trhe 11 hr driving is fine.Statistics prove that accidents happen in the first couple hrs. of the driving shift. Not the last.IThe 10 hr. sleep rule is okay.I do feel that safety can be acheived allowing drivers to split their sleep breaks in two shifts no less than two hours min, and 8 hrs the second would help. Also, giving some break on the 14 hrs.So drivers can rest when they are tired etc.I like the 34 hr restart it is boring sitting in one place but gives driver time to relax etc.I do feel the simple solution.Stop letting lobyist run our country, PERIOD. Do away with the 70 hr rule all together. Then we wont need the 34 either.Let us drive 11, sleep 10, work total on duty 14 following 10 hours off.Instaill some flexibility in the sleeper berth rule.So can rest when needed. Epecially, make shippers/receivers accountable for wasting our time. The econmoy will grow, we will be profitable and not be encouraged to push all day/night.Just to get a load to destination. The old saying goes, KEEP IT SIMPLE>.The new proposal is far from simple. Thank Yoiu and I hope a agreement can be reached.
