Hours of Service of Drivers

View Comment

Leave the hours of service the way they are. The only thing i would like to see is a way to stop the 14 hour clock for a rest, not a mandatory rest, but one if i need it. All these new regs do is complicate are lives even more and do not make the roads any safer. Look at the statistics over the last few years and crashes and deaths are at the lowest level ever. Not every trucking job works on the same schedule so stop trying to make us. A 1 hour break during the shift all that is going to do is make it so i get home an hour later in my day to spend less time with my family or an hour later to park my truck and get my 10 in, what doe's this really accomplish, nothing. The last thing i have to say is spend some time in the trucking field so you have an understanding of what we do before you screw up are schedule's even more in the name of safty, which by the way the roads are the safest they have bin ever.
