Dear FMCSA,
I am writing to thank you for keeping your liberal open mind regarding vision
exemptions. I truly think it is the right thing to do.
I can understand where people can have doubts about monocular drivers, but I
dont believe that they understand that we learn how to adapt. I am a 20/20 20/400
driver with a solid safety record. My peripheral vision is normal.
I can easierly adapt because I am not an absolute monocular drive. I believe that
is what Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration should at least consider
revising. A peripheral test should be a fairer vision requirement.
This exemption program should be for the absolute monocular. If I cover my bad
eye, I can see where this ignorance comes from, but I will not abandon my
absolute monocular brothers and sisters. I believe safety comes from with in.
As from previous studies, monocular drivers out perform binocular drivers regarding
safety. Why? Because we know our limits and focus on safety more than
binocular drivers....the FACT.
I possibly could be wrong but....Thank You for the opportunity to comment!
Sincerely,
Mr. Anonymous
