As a Motor Carrier we already pay Hwy Use Tax each year along with Fuel Tax. The idea of UCRA was to become uniform, not to increase our cost. Why does government continue to single out the Trucking industry to tax? Because we are by numbers a minority industry and it is easy to continue to tax us. Just like emissions, we are on the bottom of the percentage of air pollution, where the smoke stack industry is at the top, but look at the problems we are having to endure with new engine emssion controls and the increased cost. When will someone stand of and do what is right. After all, with out trucks America would gring to a halt.
