Although I agree with the restrictions on handheld phone use, I do not agree with a complete ban. If I am using a handsfree device, I feel there is no difference between that communication and talking to someone sitting next to me. No one should be allowed to take their eyes off the road, ever. But that is the purpose of a handfree device. If this is allowed to be enacted, I fear we would soon be driving with no radio, cb or anything else that can keep us from becoming bored, which also leads to sleepiness. By all means ban texting, and holding the phone to your ear, but do not take away cell phones completely.
