Qualification of Drivers; Exemption Applications; Epilepsy and Seizure Disorders

The time has come for those of us with controlled seizure disorders to be treated fairly on an individual basis by the DOT and the FMCSA, similarily to those with diabetes and vision disorders. On a daily basis in my shipping/receiving position, I witness drivers from Canada and Mexico with seizure disorders driving our roads, but I am not allowed the same rights legally. In January 2008, the MEP recommended changing these restrictive rules, however, the Medical Review Board decided to remain complacent. In April 2009, the FMCSA sent me a letter requesting detailed documentation for a an official review and board decision, however I never received any results. I was on a previous docket FMSCA-2006-25854, but never received a verdict. Therefore, I am submitting my application for a seizure exemption for the third time. I wish to be included in this docket as well. I am attaching several documents to support my application. I will continue to seek this exemption because I am successful commercial driver and deserve it.
