i cant believe you think this is a good idea. it is completely understandable that we want to reduce highway accidents; but all this will do is harbor an environment for monopolies. safety records in the transportation industry have increased exponentially in the past 5 years, the industry is the safest it has ever been. to keep imposing these rules and regulations will put small competitors out of business and we will end up with a similar situation to railroads; a few large companies can inflate prices to unreasonable levels. this will effect us all on the consumer end, all of the products we us have gotten to us in some way, shape, or form due to a truck.
