Being that agriculture is what mostly founded Wisconsin and that it is a dying way of life, I see no reason why something that has not caused trouble has to be changed. Rural communities thrive on the farmers contributions. I see no reason for more cost to farmers, especially when there is also no expense or lost income to our government. As a farm business who sells mineral and feed, we are subject to DOT regulations, which are constantly a pain, even though we only have 3 employees and 1 truck. Nothing with the DOT is simple and having farmers have to put that into their already busy day in unnecessary. We are definitely opposed to having farmers be required to have DOT numbers and be under the same regulations as huge trucking companies.
