So, the DOE wants to have an exemption for it's drivers that are hauling radioactive materials. This mandatory 30-minute break is being forced upon all drivers, whether they haul hazardous materials or not. Why should a federal government agency be exempt from the rules another federal agency has imposed on the whole nation? Either everybody follows the same rules all of the time or remove the exemption. Apparently the federal government believes this mandatory break is not viable.
