I have recently taking over and by recent I mean I've been here 7 weeks. I will share my experience as someone with very new eyes and not having any experience in institutional food service. It is nearly impossible to give exact nutritional analysis. The program we currently use is Nutri-kids but I don't feel that it is really that accurate. I have looked up food items myself on-line and they are different from that of Nutri-kids. The program is helpful for a general sense as to where you stand but overall not accurate for those who have dietary concerns such as diabetics. It is also difficult because nothing is standardized. Portion sizes vary from product to product for nutritional information however the portion size to be used is standardized. If there was one source that was house the information it certainly would be easier and menu programs would be universal in there information.
