As a school district, we obtain information on ingredients, nutritionals, etc using multiple methods such as computerized ordering systems, manufacturer contact / sales rep contact, manufacturer website, online nutrition facts finder websites, nutrition fact sheets, etc. These methods are used for both items delivered to the schools from our vendor and from commercial providers. Unfortunately the information is not frequently updated for changes in serving sizes and effects nutritionals and recipe creation. additionaly, the allergen component of foods is missing on serveral online or manufacturer sites, and vendor sites. Both issues frequently lead to waiting for product labels on delivery for confirmation of information obtained from other sources.
