Our agency is supportive of recognizing WIC breastfeeding efforts. The success of preventive health care and community based services may be attributed to the partnerships established. Families are the main benefactors when service coordiantion and integration exists. Our society is not as receptive to breastfeeding as other cultures, and having a national focus on the positives of breastfeeding will assist in the acceptance that breastfeeding is the norm, not the exception.
