All FSA loans are great programs but lack one thing. The processing time on loan approval or deniel is way to long. The new micro loan program is in the right direction, but if it follows the OL regulations for processing a loan application we will continue to have problems with loans. The time allowed by FSA to approve the loans will continue to create disasters for applicants. This process allows FSA 30 to complete an application then 60 days to make a determination. This gives FSA 90 days to make a decision. Most vegetable crops are grown in 45 to 90 days. I know it takes time to gather information but approval or dienial should be made 30 days after an application is called complete. Crops are grown by season. The application request for the type of crops should be timed accordingly so it will be approved for the season. This should be added to this program. Planting a crop at the wrong time will guarantee a loss to both the producer and FSA. Please consider this option. I believe it will save the government lots of money and make better farmers for this country. The Small farmers needs crop insurance as well for security RMA has an agrilite program but its not available to all states this should be a change also it could make the differents for producer's success to repay these loan in case of diasters.
