Mandatory Country of Origin Labeling of Muscle Cuts of Beef (Including Veal), Lamb, Chicken, Goat, and Pork; Ground Beef, Ground Lamb, Ground Chicken, Ground Goat, and Ground Pork

This Rule goes into effect the same day that the retailers are expected to display the information. It seems that if the harvesting plants and further processors could generically approve their labels right away, then on September 30th, 2008, the product that is being delivered into the retail shops would have the information that they need to be successful on the day of implementation.
