The use of Mobile Slaughter Units should should be made available to producers throughout the country. If we are to make positive strides towards producing and feeding healthier food to American consumers then producers must have access to these types of resources. Currently, in Hawaii small ranches are at a crisis point, trying to source and fund slaughtering facilities for their cattle. As a consumer, I support local sustainabile producers and I find it very frustrating that local grass-fed, sustainably raised beef is so very expensive. Making mobile units available to producers should help to bring down their costs and make it possible for ranchers to stay in business and perhaps even thrive. We, as consumers, would benefit from their success and ability to continue to produce good healthy food. This is a good idea - see it to conclusion and give Americans more options for healthy local food. Thank you.
