I agree that the Hawaiian Hawk should be removed from the endangered or threatened wildlife list. The plan that has been implemented through the PDM Plan seems to be sound, and since it will continue to track any changes with this species of bird through surveys every five years, for the next 20 years, will guarantee that adverse effects will be looked at closely, and action can be taken. According to studies already performed over the previous 20 years, this bird has flourished, and had made a healthy and substantial comeback. I feel that this in itself shows a healthy resilience for the Hawaiian Hawk. It is also addressed in the PDM Plan that even though Hawaii hasn't been affected by the West Nile Virus to date, that monitoring measures will be set in place to closely watch for negative effects on this species should the West Nile Virus become an issue.
