We need both clean burning energy and to reduce our dependence on foriegn oil. Natural gas is best for this. Living in a rural area I know that the animals or birds that people say should be protected are numerous. They often do better and thrive when they are around people and man-made structures. Look at the caribou and the Alaskan pipeline and fish in manmade reefs as two examples.
