To Whom It may Concern:
I would encourage you not to continue with critical habitat designation for the Slickspot Peppergrass. The lack of scientific data regarding this plant is stunning and the fact that it has indeed gone this far in the listing process is grievous.
I have viewed several enclosures and exclosures with the Slickspot included that tell me that ground disturbance is actually what enhances this plants growth, as the plants in the enclosures are substantially smaller and less robust than the plants outside where grazing is taking place.
Also, WWP's continual assault on multiple uses of the land is the only reason that this plant has been called into question. USFWS has already paid well over $300,000 to this group for it's crusade to list the plant. Let's get our facts straight, do the necessary research to actually benefit the plant rather than dive right into critical habitat designations.
Sincerely,
Jennifer R. Ellis
