Sirs,
I DO NOT support the proposed designation of critical habitat for endangered mountain caribou. These animals are reaching into their most southern habitat when they entering into Idaho. As an outdoor person whom has spent extensive amounts of time in this area it does not need special designation for caribou. There is plenty of available habitat for the few caribou that migrate into this area. Special interest groups such as the Defenders of Wildlife who support the wolf reintroduction are behind this proposal. As most are aware the wolf is now a serious threat to the wildlife of Idaho and left to the sportsmans dollars to manage.
We do not need to set thousands of acres aside for caribou. They will do just fine as the wolf and grizzlies have done. Please stop responding to special interest groups such as the Defenders for Wildlife while we still have some wildlife left in Idaho.
I have continued to see the decline in elk, sheep, deer in the state by wolves. This designation will only allow wolves to propagate unmanaged in this area and ultimately lead to the demise of the caribou and everything else in the area.
