I am a homeowner in Thurston County, WA. We have several areas already set aside as wildlife areas. As an owner of 5 acres, if the gopher is put on the endangered species list and was found on my property, I would not be able to build on or improve my land.
I have been told by others that there are plenty of Mazama pocket gophers in Thurston Co. and that, with the numbers found, should not be put on the endangered species list.
