I find it amazing that an agency of our government wastes time on worrying about a 3" lizard in New Mexico. I live on 1/3 of an acre in Albuquerque and I get along very fine with the lizards in my back yard, They do their thing and I do mine and occassionally I tell one of them hello as they go by. Your rule says the sand dune guy's habbitat is prudent but ndeterminable at this time. Prudent means discree so the habitat can not be discreet and underterminable at the same time. I have read that the BLM has already carved out a 578-square-mile area where it has prohibited new oil and gas leases. In case you do not know, New Mexico get a substantial amount of it's educational system monies fro oil and gas operation within the state. I presume that means nothing to you all. I find it very dificult to believe that man and lizard can not live side by side. Perhaps what is driving this whole ridulous rule making is some wild eyed envirionmentalist who believe it is his or her position in life to protect bugs and insure that bugs have more than humans. Our local Santa Fe bug guru, John Horing of the WildEarth Guardians was quoted in t\he article announcing this ruling "I hope it's not too little, too late." I hope you bag this silly ruling and let man and bug live together as they have for years. Dick Vaughan Albuquerque
