We are opposed to the Mexican Grey Wolf becoming an endangered species.
Far too much money has been wasted on this program already. The root of the problem is not the problem of reintroduction of the Mexican Grey Wolf rather the management of the people in the local communities.
Unfortunately when the Federal Fish and Wildlife came into the rural area to reintroduce the wolf they don't understand how to work with rural communities. It doesn't matter whether it is an introduced species or an endangered species as long as the local people feel they can be a part of the program working with the agency people then the program stands a better chance of succeeding.
Money is being poured into a rat hole while the agency people try and force the local people into submission, accepting something that has become unpalatable because they feel they have no voice.
The most important part of any assistance program is sustainability. Sustainability requires inputs, relationships and contributions from the entire eco-community.
To avoid conflicts everyone should be working on the problems, not just agencies. The folks who are on the land every day, tending the livestock and the land could be a huge asset to the program.
