Caution! The state side coaster brook trout endangered species act worries me some! Just some concern about the coaster brook trout being a target as endangered species from the US side of the border. This can be a bad thing that one or two things I see that can happen here and most likely will. The first concern is if the brook trout is listed as endangered species from the state side, we may see high fishing pressure on the Canadian side targeting these coasters. I don't think this is a good move at all knowing that most U.S.A. hatchery fish comes from the Nipigon area from the Canadian side. As we speak these fish do not need more extra attention from more anglers especially if some anglers like to consume some. I know that more and more do practice catch & release but not all do including some of our Canadian anglers. The second thing that may happen if we see this new endangered species law in force from the state side is we may see the same happening here on the Canadian side as well. Either it will also be implemented to a complete closure or new slot sizes will be force once again. The coaster brook trout has been under study for kwite sometime but this new law will not be they answer from my own personal opinion. When I think of government making these laws when yet them themselves do more damage then good with new big mining projects and so fort. This really troubles me some. When we look at California and how anglers view this problem could not be more accurate when they themselves point fingers back at the government. May be a lesson to be learn there and followed from the publics point of view blaming the government for poor decision. ( Water4Fish.org from California) Romeo Rancourt
