in regard to the mussels in clinch river, i fish around fortblackmore va. and float the river also. i see a lot of shells from dead mussels. i believe there is still a chemical being released upstream on the clinch river.there is getting to be alot of beaver, otter and muskrat in the river, don,t know if they eat mussels or not. there used to be alot of fish in the river but not anymore, there are more fish from clinchport on down the clinch river, but from clinchport to dungannon you do not see many fish. you don,t even see snakes or turtles in the river anymore that tells me some chemical is running them out of the river. i shoot fish in clinch river in the spring time and you are seeing less fish coming up the river each year, fish are going up some creeks to cleaner water.
