It is very unclear what the status of wolves is/will be in Northeastern states, such as Maine. If the Eastern Wolf species historically ranged in Maine and New England, then I would think that steps should be taken to reintroduce and at least protect the status of Eastern Wolves in Maine, in case they immigrate from Canada or elsewhere.
This document only mentions removing protection for Gray Wolves in Maine, but does not mention the Eastern Wolf reintroduction or protection in Maine. I am in support of protecting wolves or reintroducing them in Maine, and would like to hear more on this.
Furthermore, it is confusing to me as to why there is a public hearing in Augusta, Maine.
