RE: Docket no. FWS-R4-ES-2008-0107 Request for extension of the public comment period for the status review of the Altamaha Spinymussel
Dear Supervisor Tucker:
As you are aware, the Service is accepting public comment through December 6, 2010 on this proposed listing. On behalf of the GFA landowner community in the Altamaha basin region who would potentially be impacted by the rule, we respectfully request a 60 day extension to the public comment period to allow adequate time for interested parties to provide the Service with information that could be useful for this status review.
Some of the Association's member landowners have indicated that they have information to supply that they believe would be helpful in this particular review; however, they have expressed a need for more time to prepare and submit comments.
We would appreciate your accommodation in this matter.
Sincerely,
Steve McWilliams
