SOAR opposes reintroduction of any birds into SW LA - or anywhere along the Gulf of Mexico - given the BP oil disaster and use of toxic Corexit dispersant in the water. The marshlands have been contaminated. Until the clean up is completed and the water has been tested to insure the cranes survivability, SOAR urges the US FWS to delay reintroduction.
Thank you,
