I fully support federal listing of the spring pygmy sunfish and designation of critical habitat, although, in my opinion, it should be listed as endangered. It has a highly restricted range and has experienced severe population impacts in recent years as a result of land-use activities, aquifer drawdown, and droughts. The species is highly vulnerable and potentially faces extinction if there are further impacts to its habitat.
