PRairie Dog Relocation is a 4 year old volunteer organization which has trapped or
foamed and captured over 500 White-Tailed Prairie Dogs from construction or building
sites in town for the last 4 years, including Walker Field Airport. It was
with considerable
sadness that we picked up over 50 shells in mid June 11,2006 in the middle of our
relocation site, miles from town or houses. After the donation materials and
our time,
we have a considerable interest in the wellbeing of these transplanted animals,
and it
seems to us that 'recreational hunters' could shoot at non-living targets,
rather than
living animals with pups.
Please protect these intelligent creatures from extinction. Their
extensive
language needs the interaction of large colonies to remain active and viable.
And the
100 or so animals that depend on them or their burrows also need large colonies, not
isolated scattered, and tiny populations. Please list these animals.
