This comment represents the nearly 400 members of the Grand Valley Audubon Society located in Grand Junction, Colorado. Many of our members have volunteered on behalf of Gunnison Sage Grouse. We have participated in field trips to see the grouse. Gunnison Sage Grouse are not a resilient species genetically. They are not able to take adequate measures to avoid overhead predators from power lines or feral cats and dogs brought on by nearby development. We have commented persistenly on the continuous habitat degradation that has been occurring locally because of energy development. We support the critical habitat designations.
