90-Day Finding on a Petition To List the Pacific Walrus as Threatened or Endangered

I am writing to request that you list the Pacific walrus under the Endangered Species Act and designate critical habitat for the species. Like the polar bear, the Pacific walrus is quickly losing its sea-ice habitat to global climate change. At the same time, the species faces increased threats from industrial oil and gas development in the Arctic. Without the protections of the Act, the walrus's future is no brighter than the polar bear's. Please exercise your authority under the Endangered Species Act to protect these unique animals.
