I live in Bemuda Dunes C.C. which is in the so. calif. desert. I was reading the
local newspaper ( Desert Sun ). There was an article written by Keith Matheny
about the endangered June Beetle. The article said this Beetle was only seen in
isolated areas in a local wash area. This is not true. Bermuda Dunes C.C. borders
the cities of Palm Desert and Indio. 1 mile so. of Interstate 10. During a 3 week
period in the mo. of June i noticed plenty of these Beetles. There were many on
my patio and around the pool deck mostly noticed in the early morning hrs. This
first week of July they have subsided for the most part. This Beetle for sure exists
in areas other than the wash mentioned in the article.
