1) We the people do not have 789 million dollars.
2) No endangered species requires 112,765 acres of bought, preserved habitat.
3) You could buy 1 acre of $6,997/acre land and put the 698 endangered toads on it, where they would be about as happy as clams. Cost: $6,997.
4) The Center for Biological Diversity (whatever) is an embarrassment to an entire species known for and defined by its sapience.
