In light of this amazing discovery of Franciscan Manzanita, it behooves the Federal Government to legally protect this plant with the full weight of the Endangered Species Act without delay. The actions required in enacting protection for this plant will be the best way to ensure its recovery to endure for future generations. This is a National Treasure.
