SUBJECT: COMMENTS ON 90-DAY FINDING ON A PETITION TO LIST 10 SUBSPECIES OF GREAT BASIN BUTTERFLIES AS THREATENED OR ENDANGERED WITH CRITICAL HABITAT, DOCKET NO. FWS–R8–ES–2010–0097; 92210–1111– 0000–B2
The Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) appreciates the opportunity to comment on the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service 90-Day Finding on a Petition to List 10 Subspecies of Great Basin Butterflies as Threatened or Endangered with Critical Habitat (76 Fed. Reg. 61532, October 4, 2011), hereinafter the 90-Day Finding. SNWA’s comments address three subspecies for which the Service initiated a status review (White River Valley Skipper [Hesperia uncas grandiosa], Baking Powder Flat Blue Butterfly [Euphilotes bernardino minuta], and Steptoe Valley crescentspot [Phyciodes coctya arenacolor]), and one subspecies for which SNWA agrees with the Service’s not-warranted finding (Railroad Valley Skipper [Hesperia uncus fulvapalla]).
