I have lived at the address noted for the passed 13 years and have a red Elderberry bush growing in the SW corner of the backyard. My house is some miles from the river and located in East Sacramento, CA. This bush is about 30 feet high and 20 feet wide. I have photographed the bug in question several times on my property(see attached photo's). This despite your departments pronouncements regarding the Valley Elderberry Longhorn Beetle(VELB) living only in Elderberry's of the blue variety. The VELB would appear to have a larger more varied range then you state. In deciding on delisting this species you should determine if my situation is a fluke or is a study oversight. If this bug lives in all kinds of Elderberry's and in yards all over the valley it may not be endangered after all. Thanks for your consideration.
