The findings of the Sierra Nevada Red Fox have been quite exciting here in Tuolumne County. I was fortunate enough to be present for a lecture by a passionate Stanislaus National Forest Wildlife Biologist named Adam Rich at Columbia Junior College in Sonora where he spoke about the findings and identification of the fox as well as shared photos and his techniques to collect data. It was incredible to know the the species is trying to make a comeback! I was happy not only as a natural resource student and wildlife enthusiast but also as a Father and Uncle who would absolutely love to to see the Sierra Nevada Red Fox protected for future generations to enjoy and learn from. The extirpation of species from California like the Wolverine and Wolf has always been troubling for local residents and the natural community and I see an opportunity to ensure the Sierra Nevada Red Fox has a home in the Sierra's. I know I have not included any specific species information but I do offer my opinion. Please do what you can to help the future of this fox. Local residents like me are more than willing to give a little to get a lot in regards to the fox. Than you so very much for your time and the work you do for us all!
