Placing Eagle Lake trout on the endangered species list would not only impact the way of life of many Lassen County residents but would also impact the local economy in a big way. Many people travel to Eagle Lake to fish from all over the world. This provides an economic boost to Lassen County, which is a county that is economically depressed to begin with. With the 2 fish limit and how many-and how often-the lake is stocked, it's hard to believe that the numbers have been declining enough in recent years to warrant a fishing ban. The focus shouldn't be on fishing, it should be on finalizing the restoration of Pine Creek, the fish's historical spawning grounds.
