To those in the process of evaluating a listing of the eagle Lake Rainbow Trout as an Endangered and threatened species. I must object to this designation. For this species of trout is being raised in, and developed in California Government fish hatcheries, for planting in other lakes of the Sierra, Nevada Mountain Range. In October 2011 this particulate species of trout was planted in Gold Lake, Sierra County, Ca. The species is commonly known as the Cut throat Trout of Eagle Lake, which are similar to the Cut Throat trout of Pyramid Lake in Nevada Both species are adaptable to their native, higher than normal alkaline lake bodies, but are very self sufficient and survivable in purer water lakes. Last fall I had the good fortune to catch one of those planted Cut Throat Trout while trolling in a boat on Gold lake. Sense this species of trout can be propagated through fish hatchery management, that there is no justification for such designation for the species as being Endangered or threatened. There is past legal judgement to similar events that occurred with regard to a false designation for the Silver salmon where they were raised in captivity through farming of the fish. A court at the time stopped your false designation. I suspect your act here is an act of corruption to use as a tool to disallow river and stream mining, by declaring that the planted fish of the Eagle Lake Cut throat species into the streams and rivers of the Sierra, Nevada, as being an endangered species, that would be used as an environmental threat to stop in stream mining. I will ask the justice Department Inspector general division to observe your methods of evaluating this process of your agency . David Jackson Ingraham (Civil service: Retired)
