(II) Acrocephalus percernis aquilonis. 1) Clutch size: the reference for the number of eggs should be Bruner (1970). He examined 15 clutches that contained two to five eggs, four being the most frequent number (p. 93). Holyoak & Thibault (1984) indicated that two eggs may be a more realistic number. BRUNER, P. L. 1970. Behavior, ecology, and taxonomic status of three southeastern Pacific warblers of the genus Acrocephalus. Unpublished thesis, Dept. of Zoology and Physiology Louisiana State University (116 pp.). (No electronic file available). HOLYOAK, D. T., & THIBAULT, J.-C. 1984. Contribution à l'étude des oiseaux de Polynésie orientale. Mémoires du muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle, Paris 127: 1-209. (No electronic file available). 2) Vernacular name : The name “Polynesian warbler” is misleading. The widely used name for Acrocephalus species is “reed-warbler”, and several species of reed-warblers inhabit the Polynesian region. The two lineages of reed-warblers in the Marquesas archipelago have been split to the northern Marquesas reed-warbler Acrocephalus percernis and southern Marquesas reed-warbler Acrocephalus mendanae (Cibois et al. 2007). We suggest using Eiao Marquesas reed-warbler as an English name for Acrocephalus percernis aquilonis. (V) Ducula galeata. Gouni & Gustemme (2009) reported the population estimate on Ua Huka (translocated population) based on a survey undertaken in 2008. They observed two groups of 9 and 6 birds on the initial translocation area, and suggested that the population has expanded to the inaccessible parts of the island where the survey of birds was not possible.
