We must stop the cruelty being inflicted upon our closest animal cousins. Chimpanzees possess much of the same awareness and understanding that people experience. We must respect their basic right to humane treatment. Chimp testing is no longer medically necessary. The US is the only western country to maintain it. It is an embarrassment. Science is progressing and so should our basic sense of ethics around animal testing. It is the decent thing to do. It's time to change our legacy.
