I strongly urge you to consider listing all chimpanzees as endangered. All chimps deserve the full protection of the law which they are not now afforded under the double listing. This has allowed chimpanzees to be kept as pets which is detrimental not only to the chimps but hazardous to the public as evidenced several times over the past few years. in addition, the use of chimpanzees in film and TV has misled the general public to believe that chimpanzees are not endangered, which in fact they are. The proposed change to the ESA of listing all chimps (captive and wild) as endangered will protect chimpanzees as well as the public. Thank you.
