Banning interstate travel of these bird species will do nothing for domestic populations but cause severe inbreeding and genetic issues in captive lines. Creating the possibility for extinction in the wild with no viable genetics to release or help in repopulation. It also will create a greater issue with relinquished animals. Large birds are hard to find good homes for. In a day and age where travel and mobility is necessary for some persons to make a living, I feel it is an unnecessary challenge to place on not just a person but the animal whom is bonded to that person. I travel with my bird, as I know others do. These animals live for as long as we do and longer. They are intelligent and become part of the family. I agree they need protection in the wild. I do not see how the interstate ban will protect wild birds.
