I urge the USFWS to add the Hyacinth, Great Green and Military Macaws to to the endangered species list. The science is overwhelming that their numbers have plummeted due to a plethora of threats and easily qualify for this status. As a private citizen and birdwatcher, I am very proud that our country recognizes it's responsibility to protect God's creation both in the United States and across our world. While I'm sure you will get comments from some people that are concerned this listing will negatively effects their pet bird business or ability to keep Macaws as pets NONE of these birds will be around if we don't work to conserve them in the wild.
I want to be able to live in a world where these magnificent birds will live free and can be seen by birdwatchers and others. But more importantly, I want our children and great grand children have the same opportunity you and I have to live in a biologically rich world.
Thanks USFWS!
