I am strongly OPPOSED to the initiation of hunting season in KY for sandhill cranes. As a migratory bird that crosses many state borders, this species does not belong to the people of Kentucky and they should not be able to choose how many to kill or how to best manage the species. In fact, sandhill cranes don't breed or winter in KY, only migrate through, which means that state should have even less right to hunt them than states that actually harbor the species for a significant portion of the year. Only the federal government should be allowed to manage this species and I hope you do not allow this hunt.
